Project Summary: . After meeting and discussing ideas it became clear to both the Owner and the Architect that by bringing the Venacular of the Interior Spaces outside we would achieve the Client's Goals of making this house a home.
To accomodate a budget we Phased the project. The first phase of this project was to reconstruct the delapidated portico and use venacular from inside such as the arch entryway, textured stucco wall finish and select clay floor tiles. These design elements begin to hint as to the mediteranian celebration beyond the entrance of this quaint abode. Project Scope: A growing family needs more space. The Sturtons' had already developed a preliminary floor plan of what they envisioned for their future. The key to this project was to establish a project budget and keep it on track.

Project Summary: We extended the garage to the building setback line and then utilized the now enlarged garage area to extend the family room, add a den and even a vestibule with skylights ! The Sunroom, adjacent to the kitchen, utilized Post and Beam Construction to allow for maximum window openings and provided for a Vaulted Ceiling. Of course existing interior walls had to be demolished and new beams and columns had to be anchored to new concrete foundations but these modifications helped to make this house a home.

Project Summary: Mom's new studio addition included a bathroom and revised kitchen as well as brilliant clerestories in the grand vaulted studio. This will be a nice place for Mom to spend the days doing her favorite crafts.

Lewis Residence -Redmond,Washington.

Project Summary: A second story addition to the existing detached garage integrated well with the site conditions. The ridge beam was sloped to reflect the context of the existing residence which boasted a unique butterfly roof. The storage area below provided for a stair landing/deck which reveals a magnificant view of the lake. Mr. Lewis did an excellent job of constructing the entire addition himself.

Project Summary: The new 40' x 16' addition to the northwest side of the existing residence fit perfectly on the lot. The geometry of the roofline was clean and simple. The new addition added not only the needed floor space but once again the vaulted ceilings and a unique skylight brighten things up throughout.

Sullivan Residence -Tacoma, Washington.

Project Summary: The existing house was raised 3 feet from the foundation to provide for a nice and usable basement. Two bedrooms, an enlarged bathroom and kitchen were added to the first floor. The entire second floor was added as a master bedroom, bathroom and excercise room. Mr. Sullivan saw this project from beginning to end and did a pretty good job, though he says he'll never do it again......we'll see.
